The society was beautifully sculpted with the values and faith of Sankari ethos in these Naamghars. As generations passed on cities started emerging in the cosmopolitan scenario and so did migration of people continued to cities from villages. And the need for established Naamghars was also necessary in the heart of the city. That is how the inception of Srimanta Sankar Krishti Bikas Samiti took shape with the vision of following the path of Srimanta Sankardev’s cultural and religious ideologies and weaves the society with his ideologies and way of life.

Srimanta Sankar Krishti Bikas Samiti took forward the cultural and religious which plays a very important role as a centre for education and divine worship.
In the year 1953 Srimanta Sankar Sangha was founded under the patronage of few prominent and eminent personalities of Assam like Dr Surjya Kumar Borah, Kaliram Medhi, Haramohan Das, Raghunath Choudhury, Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury, Atul Chandra Hazarika, Beliram Das, Upendra Chandra Lekharu, Mahendra Nath Mahanta, Lahminath Phukan, Sri Sinanda Das, Sri Gaurikanta Talukdar, Dr Birinchi Kumar Barua, Dr Jagdish Chandra Medhi, Harinarayan Dutta Barua and Bichitra Narayan Dutta Barua, There were total 70 members who initiated the idea of establishing the Samiti. But it didn’t take off as expected. Just after one year of this idea, Dr Bhubeneswar Barua organized a meeting at his residence along with Upendra nath Lekharu, Chandra Nath Kalita and few distinguished people where Srimanta Sankar Krishti Bikas Samiti  was established on 8th January.

Dr Bhubeneswar Barua was elected as the President of the Samiti. Haramohan Das was the Secretary and Treasurer and Mahendra Kumar Barua was Joint Secretary of the Samiti. It was a 15 member committee that was the trailblazer of the Srimanta Sankar Krishti Bikas Samiti.
